TYVEK -new material, to play with

This is my first attemp using Tyvek-
a non woven polyethylene material.
When warmed up, it makes bubbles,a nd holes, an other interesting reactions.

I tryed it here in this stamped collage, and likes it-do you see it ,it becomes rather
hard and heawy, after the warming up,-but you can still sew in it.

Just a hello , and  showing , a for me new material-do some of you know this,
and have you tryed it ??????

Many hugs, and  kisses to all of you.
Love ,Dorthe

Looks great as an embellishment, it takes paint really well too. The best part is it's waterproof so you can make a book cover and have it be waterproof. It's fun and unpredictable, show us more dear friend. xox Corrine

Wow I really love the way this turned out! I knew of tyvek as I have a Lesley Riley video where she uses it but I have never used it myself. I love the way you used it as her hair Dorthe! Not only is this a gorgeous collage but it looks like it was fun too!

Dorthe,
That is just beautiful! I know what Tyvek is and have heard it used as an art material but never imagined it could be this pretty!

Thank you so much for your kind note. I am feeling happier and really focusing on keeping myself in that place. It is not easy but I think I can do it!

Love,
Suz

It's a great material I make all kinds of paper with it for wrapping presents or backgrounds on collages. Using kleenex or sponge to move paint around and then put different types of leaves pressed into it. I am a lucky girl as my father has been in the construction business for 50 years and I have rolls of it. Have fun! Hugs, Pearl

Hi Dorthe. Isn't it fun when you try a new medium/material and you like the results?!! This collage is wonderful. Now you know why American post offices hide their tyvek priority envelopes. Bahahaha. Happy creating...

Dorthe, this is beautiful! I haven't used it before but do you think it would make a pair of shoes?!!! I have shoes on the brain right now!!! Thanks for your lovely comments, the shoes are sometimes little tiny ones for dolls, two inches and sometimes I make them really big, up to six inches long(the size of my hand)!!!!

Good morning, dearest Dorthe! It's funny, just yesterday I thought about tyvek after not having used it for a couple of years. I didn't do anything with it yesterday though. It hadn't been a creative day for me. Your collage is awesome and I love how you used the tyvek!!! It's just the perfect addition!
Have a great day, Sweetie!

Dorthe, the collage is beautiful. Yes, I've heard of using Tyvek. A lot of art quilters are using it, and, of course, mixed media artists. I've tried to get some but it's pricey and no one that I know has scraps. The lumber stores don't carry small amounts. Hmmm...I'll have to check the Dick Blick catalog. They're pretty good about keeping up with trends! I've heard it's a lot of fun to use. What did you "warm" it with?
Warm hugs,
Diane

I have never heard of it at all - and am still trying to figure out exactly what it is! What I do know is that your collage is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen - I love her face! And as Diane said, the way you did it half on and half off is simply gorgous. Lovely work Dorthe!
